More Japanese randomness
The tea lady just came over, and gave me a 'kind of marron glace'. At first, I thought she wanted me to translate something for her, but cleverly hidden underneath the paper she was showing me was a delicious treat.
Written on the paper was:
A recipie:
1. We peel the marron's skin.
2. We boil a nut with the inner skin many times.
3. At last we cook it with sugar.
I think maybe she wrote out the recipe because she was afraid I wouldn't eat it thinking there was meat in it (we had a 'conversation', the other day, when I found out her son was the same age as me). Surprisingly, it was quite sweet (many Japanese people don't like sweet foods), and very delicious. Gotta love random kindness.

for non-francophones, l.-p. should also explain that "marron" is french for chestnut, though this possiblie robs the recipe of its exoticism.

1) Yes, I know it's "recipe"; "recipie" was how it was spelled on the paper. Forgive me for not including [sic].
2) It's "Simon" not "simon" and "it's" not "its".
Thank you to Louis for defending me against this vicious personal attack. The person who posted it was obviously too cowardly to leave their name, and too uncultured to catch a well-known Simpsons' reference. So there.
